Second Annual Holiday Bowl-a-Thon Lots of Fun

January 2007

CCT! kids, families and volunteers celebrated the holidays with our 2nd Annual Holiday Bowl-a-Thon. With almost 40 youth in attendance and a combined force of 20 volunteers, staff and board members, the facility was
packed and a great time was had by all. Local businesses and individuals sponsored each youth so that they would all be able to knock over pins all day. Some preferred just hanging out and shooting pool with board member
Fabian Sparrow. Toys for Tots donated a generous quantity of gifts and McIntyre's Angel Tree made sure that every CCT! kid would have a book at home to read.

Since this writing, Sportsman's Lanes has gone up for sale, leaving a huge recreational gap for Siler City youth. As of yet, there are no offers on the property. With no movie theatres, teen hang outs and few game rooms in the area, there isn't much to do on the weekends. CCT! tries to link Siler City youth with other opportunities to kill time in safe places instead of hanging out with no particular agenda.

Holiday Bowl-a-Thon party made possible by PD Fields, Brookwood Farms, Smithfield Bar-B-Q, Dry Dock-Siler City, B-B-Q and Ribs, Larry Goldston, McIntyre's Fine Books, Toys for Tots, staff and residents of Carolina Meadows, and Weathersfield Group of Fearrington.
