Volunteer Appreciation 08, Project Symphony

June 2008

A perfect Spring day graced CCT! volunteers and members of the community at our annual Volunteer Appreciation. Ari Picker, former CCT! youth, Berklee School of Music student and independent composer put on a beautiful program with guest musicians from the UNC Orchestra, NC Symphony and community orchestra members at his Project Symphony fundraiser. Delightful string arrangements and piano concerto resonated perfection in Fearrington’s new Garden Terrace, a partially enclosed outdoor venue surrounded by bursting Spring flora and aromas.

"Chatham Together was an important part of my youth and I wanted to do something to give back," said Picker during Intermission.

Kim Caraganis, CCT! Director, wistfully looked upon Ari and said "I feel like a proud Mama and we are so happy to see you realize your dream!" Project Symphony is Picker's new non-profit, designed to bring classical music into communities and raise money for other non-profits.
